HOLSWORTHY C of E PRIMARY GRADED ‘EXCELLENT’ BY INSPECTORS

HOLSWORTHY C OF E PRIMARY GRADED ‘EXCELLENT‘ FOLLOWING SIAMS INSPECTION

We are delighted to announce that following our SIAMS Inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) Inspection on 5th June, we have been awarded an overall judgement of ‘Excellent.’

The school is extremely proud of our achievement, as in achieving the top grading, we were able to demonstrate that we are highly effective in ensuring our distinctive Christian vision is well established and promoted by leaders at all levels, enabling pupils and adults to flourish.

The Inspector, Elizabeth McWhirter, was highly impressed with the quality of education provided by our school, noting:

You may find that your school becomes a go to place in the South West because it can be harder to achieve excellence in a rural area!  You are all doing a wonderful job, given your context, so be pleased and proud!’

Some key findings in the report include (see link below for full report):

– Excellent leadership at all levels ensures the vision and values of this school are at the forefront of their thinking in everything they do.

– A strong Christian ethos of collaboration has enabled a culture of continual and sustainable improvement where all groups flourish.  As a result, staff continually strive to improve their practice together, with high expectations and raised aspirations enabling extremely positive outcomes for all pupils including the disadvantaged.

– Exemplary pastoral care supports the needs of its pupils extremely well.  The level of pastoral care extends well beyond the school into the wider community, meeting its needs very well.

– Bold curriculum decisions mean religious education is now a strength of the school and pupils spiritual development is nourished through innovative approaches, including Wild Tribe/Time to Flourish.

I am very grateful to all of my staff, the pupils and the parents /wider school community for their ongoing support.  Also deserving of special recognition is my Deputy Headteacher, Ant Pope, who has done a wonderful job in his role as leader of RE and the SIAMS Agenda.
